Furniture Guide: Dining Tables
We are taking the guesswork out of dining table planning for ya! Save this for next time you're table shopping.
Matching the size to the space:
You’ll need at least 36" between the table and the next piece of furniture or wall to easily move around the table and to pull your chair out.
Fitting into a space:
The shape of the room will tell you which shape of table to use. A rectangle room gets a rectangle table, and a square room can get a square or round table.
How many can it seat?
For rectangle and square tables, there should be at least 2 feet of space per seat, and no more than 3 feet.
For circular tables, multiply its diameter in inches by 3.14. Then divide by how cozy you want to get: divide by no less than 24 (for 24 inches, or 2 ft per chair) and up to 36 (for 36 inches, or 3 ft per chair).
