Pros and Cons of Quartz Countertops

Quartz is SO popular nowadays, due to the lower prices you can get for a higher end look. And there are so many benefits to it! But as always, some drawbacks. It’s great to be prepared and educated before you make a decision.

Pro: Appearance!

It’s BEAUTIFUL! And there are a lot of varieties you can get because it’s man-made.

Con: Won’t Age Beautifully

Since it is man-made, it won’t have the natural imperfections of natural stone, and won’t age and patina beautifully like say, a carrara marble.

Pro: Cost effective!

The price point is practical and attainable to achieve a higher end look you might want.

Con: Very susceptible to heat damage.

This ain’t no granite! Don’t set a scalding pan down directly on your quartz or it will burn.

Pro: Low maintenance.

You won’t have to re-seal it every few years like a natural stone.

Con AND Pro: Staining.

While it is more stain resistant than most, it’s not impenetrable. However it’s fairly easy to remove most stains.
